Jacks Point House
Jacks Point House

Nestled under the Remarkables range, this Jacks Point residence was conceived as a holiday house for two close friends and their families. Open, light spaces are offset by strong, dark material inserts – such as the steel and concrete fireplace, charcoal kitchen and moody tiled bathrooms.

The architectural response moves away from the safe language of the subdivision, pushing a strong monopitch roof form, reflective of the jagged schist background. Dark stained timber cladding wraps the two boxes of the living level, which is both grounded by a schist garage underneath, yet allowed to float above the edge of the site, maximising the expansive views and elevating the response.
